7 Side Hustles You Can Start
So, you’ve used my free monthly budgeting template and you’ve finally concluded that with the way you’re spending and what you’re earning, you’re probably not going to have enough to save for that travelling lifestyle you want or the adventure you’ve been dreaming of living out. Here are 7 side hustles I think you can add to your main job or in some cases, even replace your job with.
Freelancing is a way of servicing businesses or individuals as an individual, meaning you don’t work directly for the company and you are being used for just one project or for whatever your contract states. I currently use freelancing services such as Fiverr and Upwork and I have to say it’s a good way of making some extra cash.
SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING
Every business needs internet presence now, so if you understand the workings of Social Media Marketing, then this is a very good way to make some good cash monthly if you don’t understand how to do it, there are hundreds of videos and tutorials you can watch on YouTube.
Any form of content creation, Vlogging is when you make videos for YouTube, Facebook, Instagram or any social media platform and you build an audience. When you build this audience, you can get paid through advertisements and affiliate marketing, sometimes you can even promote your products. Imagine having 5,000 viewers and 100 of those buy a $10 product, that $1,000 in revenue for just one video.
Having a physical store is great, but let’s assume you don’t have the money, time or resources to open your retail store, what do you do? Drop-shipping; this is the process of moving products from the manufacturer straight to the retailer without going through the regular distribution channels. Say you want to start a luxury wristwatch business; you contact the manufacturer to make it at the rate of $15 and send it straight to the customer and you sell it for $50 keeping the difference. The key to this is a targeted audience so you might have to run a lot of ads.
There is a huge market for virtual assistants, where you can work 6-8 hours a day making phone calls and managing businesses and making money without even meeting who you work for. The good thing is you set your hours and get to work from the comfort of your home. Most of the jobs you can also get on freelancing websites.
This is turning into a huge market, a lot of people want to learn about new things, languages, culture, professions, health and fitness, people want to learn about Excel and the rest of the office suite or learn how to design and edit videos. So, if you know something you feel like you can share, this is a good side hustle to start with. (Try YouTube, Udemy and Thinkific), also you can check out my video on cybersecurity to get a feel on how to start one.
WHOLESALE REAL ESTATE
This is one of those side hustles that can quickly take over your main job, this is one that’ll require a little bit of going out of your house, but it can bring a lot of good profit. This is the process of getting a seller and finding a buyer for the property while adding your interest on the price. It’s something you should consider.
If you need help getting started with any of the above-listed hustles, just leave a comment or contact me via email: firstname.lastname@example.org or connect with me through any of my social media pages.
